xLog released a mobile version a few days ago. I have an Android phone and installed xLog to try it out, but encountered a few issues.
How to log in
I feel that xLog does not have the concept of an account and connects through the little fox. There is a Chrome extension for the PC, but logging in on the phone using the little fox redirects to the browser, and regular mobile browsers do not have the capability to install extensions, which prevents connection and login.
The solution was found in the Discord community: install metamask. The first time you log in, you need a mnemonic phrase, which is very important and I luckily saved it in my notes.
Every time you use a new device, MetaMask requires not only the mnemonic phrase but also a new password. Will this password overwrite the one on the PC? I haven't tested it, but I used the same password and didn't get an error.
So I feel that MetaMask associates accounts through the mnemonic phrase, but the passwords exist independently on each device. Is that correct?
In summary, I successfully connected to xLog and can now enjoy using it.
Why is there no CSB balance displayed on the mobile MetaMask?
This blogger wrote very thoroughly, with complete screenshots. Following his tutorial, I successfully added how to manually add $CSB to your MetaMask - Hohhoter. At this point, the default ETH has been changed to CSB.
If this step is not taken, when xLog allows posting articles on mobile, where will it deduct tokens from?
This leads to some thoughts:
- What are the differences between CSB, ETH, and other cryptocurrencies?
- How to recharge CSB? How can these currencies be exchanged with each other?
- Besides CSB, can xLog use other tokens?
Initial experience
xLog is currently in the testing phase and its features are incomplete. I spent some time installing the app, mainly hoping to post articles from my phone. Currently, this feature is not available.
Although I don't often use mobile devices to post blogs, since this app is available, I hope it can provide another channel for posting.
The page loading speed is relatively slow, and the hot list keeps refreshing without displaying.
I believe these issues will be resolved soon.
